The Honest Answers
How does The Cloud actually work?
The Cloud is made from pure nylon cooling fiber, a material that draws heat away from your skin the moment it touches you. Unlike regular blankets that trap heat and warm up over time, nylon is thermally conductive which means it actively pulls heat away from your body rather than holding it in. Every time you shift or reach for it, any new contact point feels cool again. Both sides work the same way so there is no wrong side.
How is this different from a regular blanket?
A regular blanket insulates, it traps the heat your body generates and holds it against your skin. That is why you wake up hot. The Cloud does the opposite. The nylon fiber conducts heat away from your body instead of trapping it. It is also significantly lighter than most blankets which means less weight pressing heat back into you while you sleep.
Will it actually stay cool all night?
Most cheap cooling blankets feel cool for a few minutes and then heat up like a regular blanket. The Cloud works differently because of the nylon shell. It does not just feel cool, it actively draws heat away. And because both sides are made from the same cooling fiber, every time you move or reach for it you get that cooling sensation again. It resets with every contact point.
Is this good for night sweats and menopause?
Yes. The Cloud was specifically designed with this in mind. While it cannot stop hot flashes, it helps your body manage heat more effectively so you recover faster and fall back asleep sooner. Many of our customers dealing with perimenopause and menopause say it is the first thing that has actually made a noticeable difference to their nights.
What size should I get?
If you sleep alone or in a twin or full size bed, go with the Twin/Full (150x200cm / 59x79in). If you share a bed or have a queen size bed, go with the Queen (200x230cm / 79x91in). When in doubt go one size up, a slightly larger blanket gives you more surface area to move around on which means more cooling contact points throughout the night.
Is it soft enough to actually sleep with?
Yes. The nylon cooling fiber has a smooth silky feel that most people find more comfortable than cotton or polyester. It is lightweight enough that it does not feel heavy or suffocating, and soft enough that you will actually want to sleep under it rather than just tolerate it.
Can I wash it at home?
Yes. Machine washable on a gentle cycle in cold water with mild detergent. The one important rule is never put it in the dryer. Dryer heat permanently damages the cooling fibers. Always air dry flat or hang on a line. Follow this and the blanket will perform the same as it did on day one.
